Great North Run
GET FIT FOR 2011 AND HELP SUPPORT OUR BATHING SERVICE!
This years' Great North Run will take place on Sunday, 18 September 2011. This is without doubt the greatest half marathon in the world and Age Concern Knaresborough is offering you the chance to take part in this fantastic event with one of our guaranteed places. Every penny of the sponsorship money raised at this event will be directed to help support the highly valued bathing service which has suffered a catastrophic cut to its funding and which we are desperate to keep going. For every £100 raised you will be providing 5 baths for an elderly or disabled resident for the local community who otherwise would not be able to access the service. Just try, if you can, to imagine what it would be like not to be able to take a bath or shower. Many elderly people face such a situation and we can help them but only if we can raise sufficient funds to keep this service going.
