Ageing Well

At Age Concern Knaresborough we realise that just because we are getting older does not mean that we should sit back, waiting for old age to creep upon us and think that learning and exercise are a thing of the past!  In fact the opposite should be true.  With more free time to spend doing things that were not possible when time was filled with work and bringing up a family, we hope that our Ageing Well Programme can offer something for everyone.

We all know how important it is for our health and well being, both mental and physical, to maintain an active lifestyle and in order to help you acheive this we can offer a series of exercise and IT classes.  These classes tend to run in conjunction with school terms so if you need to help with the grandchildren in the school holidays you won't miss out on a class!

In our purpose built resource centre in Knaresborough we have a fully equipped IT suite delivering a variety of computer classes ranging from absolute beginners through to improvers and beyond.  We also provide tuition in digital photography to help you to edit and format your photos.  Each course is of 6 weeks duration and they run throughout the year.  All our tutors are fully qualified and the courses are specifcally geared to the older learner, following a more gentle pace with the emphasis very much on learning through enjoyment in a friendly and modern environment.
